Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a trenchless installation method that allows pipelines, conduits and cables to be placed underground beneath roads, railways, rivers and other obstacles without any surface excavation.
Our Navigator D7x11A drill rig steers a pilot bore along a pre-planned path. Once the pilot is complete, the bore is reamed to the required diameter and the product pipe is pulled through. The road above stays intact from start to finish.
HDD is the method of choice for crossings where open-cut excavation would cause unacceptable disruption — busy intersections, arterial roads, active rail lines and environmentally sensitive areas.
We handle the full process: bore design, pilot drilling, reaming, and product installation. Entry and exit pits are small and quickly reinstated.
